Latest knitting

 An area blanket and matching dog coat are finished. They will go to a group helping Cyprus dogs.
 I don't think little Lyla is impressed with that idea.

She's my little sergeant major. Small and mighty! The yarn is Hayfield bonus Aran tweed 20% wool 74% acrylic 6% viscose shade 0930.

Beautiful blankie - looks soooo soft. Lyla will have to get used to this. I know her Mum is the kind to make stuff for others.

The Hayfield Aran tweed was a joy to knit. I was amazed at how big the blanket turned out, as the set was made from left over yarn from Hubby's jumper. Lyla does have her own blanket but she would much rather share my duvet. She is such a princess at times!

Hi Suzie, the blanket has been in the background for a while. I couldn't believe how big it grew from leftovers. If it had been just a little bigger it would have been lap Quilt size. Lyla makes me laugh with her antics.

Lyla would like all blankets and duvets to be just for her. When I lay a project on the floor I have to use a baby stair gate to keep the hounds off. I thoroughly recommend the yarn. It doesn't stretch because it has wool in it.

I will rattle thorough these photos as quickly as I can. Lace socks for a friend.  July 4th marked us being here for 3 years. I created this bed for the anniversary. I gave these 2 cast iron cockerels to my Granny around 2000. She now has dementia and has gone into a care home. I was offered them back. They still had traces of the original bright colours I had painted them in for her. She loves bright colours still. I gave them a makeover in white hammerite paint for metal. The seating in the picture above the last one, needed cushions for comfort so I made a set of 6 like this.  Grey cotton socks for myself from Hanabira cardigan leftovers. So Much Change!

Do you remember the tapestry teapot chair I had so nearly finished but was looking for the right shade of pink rick rack? Well I gave up on the pink and found a gold braid. Perfect! Its amazing what you can buy online when you are unable to use the shops. In the garden radishes, carrots, spring onions, beetroot, yellow beans, kale and lettuce have gone outside.  Inside courgettes, peppers and tomatoes. The Amazons Nancy and Peggy Blackett (from Swalllows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome) are wearing the red hats and the D's Dorothea and Dick Callum (from other Arthur Ransome books in the series) are all wearing new cardigans now. I'm so happy to see them cosy in this changeable weather. The weather is cooler and breezier today bringing some much needed rain overnight. Sock yarn challenge

 I challenged myself to use all my sock yarn. I managed these pairs  this week. There wasn’t enough yarn left for another whole pair so I started making some Leonie Morgan hexagons from all my sock scraps Slowly they are making a blanket.  There are also some charity makes such as more lined bags, a couple of dried rose peal sachets, and 9 cup mats. My pond has some 30th Anniversary plants now. We bought 4 salvias and a lavender. The others I already had.
